Steppenwolf is a character type, born 100 years ago from the pen of Hermann Hesse and who inspired the beat generation of the sixties. It is an autobiographical story that describes a being with a double personality, half a human, in need of warmth and affection and half a lonely wolf. He admires the right-thinking people for their ability to create a small ideal world around them, but at the same he time hates them for their petty superficiality. He suffers because he realizes that he can never be one of those people with so many esteemed friends. As much as they can speak well of themselves and their world, they will remain blind forever...
